I will NEVER do business with Public Storage. To begin with, this location is AWFUL. Access and egress is far from convenient and the exit doesn't even have a signal light even though it is at a busy intersection. I made a reservation online. The move in price quoted to me online said nothing about requiring insurance (minimum $11/mo in addition to rental rate) or requiring a special lock which you either have to buy from them or bring to them before you can use your unit. They will lock your unit with their lock so you can't use it if you have not fulfilled one of the noted requirements. Further, the unit I reserved is on the 2nd floor. The attendant waited until AFTER she swiped my debit card to tell me that the elevator was broken. When I told her I no longer wanted the unit, she offered to reverse the charge on my card. She did not offer to change it to a ground floor unit. Finally, after making a couple phone calls, found out that she could not reverse my charges, and it will take a week for the money to be returned to my account. So I did not move anything in but I have to wait a week to see if they are actually going to return my money or charge me a month's fee for a unit I never actually used.ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT ALL THESE ISSUES BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO A LEASE!
Several issues when I first began my move in. Let me start by saying the staff has been fairly friendly... When my unit door would not close, they did give me an alternate one for the time being until it was fixed. 1) The elevator in the climate control section worked perfectly the first couple of times. The next few times, the lights in the elevator were out. Mind you, there is no stairwell that leads into this building to the second floor from the outside or any other location within the building. I had to get my things moved so I used my phone flash light while praying the elevator would not break down as I am on it in the dark. I let the office know immediately and they said it would be fixed when the maintenance could get to it. Go back a few days later and the light was back in, then again, the light was out.... 2) The place often looks like a dump.... It does not look like they keep up appearances of the hallways as there is constantly trash in them... I really do not understand why I am paying $60+ per month for that.... Two stars only because of the two positive things I had to say.
